About Jennifer

Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with families, always placing high value on restoring relationships. Her approach to therapy is founded on the belief that mental wholeness includes right relationship with God, self and others. Using a Solution Focused approach to therapy, Jennifer will help you discover the best way to address your current concerns and tackle challenges. She works with you and your family to create and establish a new, healthy normal.

Jennifer has a heart for the challenges of motherhood. Whether the challenges are adoption, managing the demands of career and motherhood, and/or the transition into adulthood, motherhood has its own blessings, story and pitfalls. It is not surprising most mothers need support through at least one of life’s difficult transitions. Sometimes life writes a different story than the one we plan. Jennifer invites you to consider what meaning you make from the unexpected plot twists of your story, because the meaning we make determines our future path.

Families who have children struggling with mental health issues, special needs and trauma have added pressures. Jennifer’s passion for these families was sparked about 15 years ago as she watched her brother tackle the challenges of raising a child with autism. Her journey to connect with her niece led her to an ESDM (Early Start Denver Model) research project at the University of Washington. ESDM is a naturalistic behavioral therapy for young children with autism. While working at he University of Washington she provided in home behavioral therapy to young children but grew in understanding the impact a special needs child has on a family system.
